Stephen David Kish, 59, of Irwin, passed away at home Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022. He was born Oct. 24, 1962, in Greensburg, a son of the late George and Shirley Kish, and was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Robert. Stephen was employed by Curtiss-Wright EMD in Cheswick. He was an avid hunter who “got a buck” each year. He had a keen interest in Pennsylvania pre-Revolutionary War history and enjoyed kickboxing. He is survived by sons, Michael and Thomas Kish, both of North Huntingdon; by sisters, Jilan Hawk and Julia Hook; and brother, Andrew Kish. Also important was his pup, Joey, a loyal companion to the end. Stephen was described as a lifelong learner with a lively sense humor and a core of “gold.” He was a caretaker who made sure that his family always had what they needed. A celebration of his life for friends and family will be held in the spring. Professional services are by THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY LTD., Blawnox. The family requests that any donations be made to either Humane Animal Rescue, humaneanimalrescue.org, 1101 Western Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15233, 412-345-7300, or Wildlife Works Inc., wildlifeworksinc.org, P.O.
