Who is Mason Hereford?

Chef Mason Hereford was born in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is the grandson of Frank Hereford, who was the president of the University of Virginia from 1943 to 1947. According to his website, Hereford grew up near the university and became fond of a sandwich called the Jefferson that has turkey and cranberry relish. This link between eating out and sandwiches has grown stronger over time. Hereford’s advice to young chefs?
